We enjoyed church last night--the first time we've been in ages--even though the attendance was really light due to the women's retreat that took about 1/2 the congregation away for the weekend. We are starting to feel like we are a part of that group, which is a nice change for us.
I didn't fully complete my list for the week, but very nearly, and since I packed one room scheduled for next week, I think I am ahead. I only have a few items left in the office--mostly things that I don't know what to do with. I still have a few of those on the bar in the living room as well, so I might just put them all in a box together.
Ornery and I went to Walmart today to buy some totes to store all his camping gear in. They will be stored in the garage at the new house, and the two 36 gallon totes contained all the supplies exactly! There was no extra room and nothing left out. We also went to Office Depot and bought some banker boxes to move the files from our file cabinets in. We have not had good luck moving them full, so we decided to empty them--and I am sure they will travel better. The banker boxes fit the hanging files perfectly, making packing and unpacking very easy. Our rewards card covered most of the expense, so they ended up being much cheaper than the counterparts offered by the moving company.
It has been cool and rainy all day today, which has lent itself to making us sleepy. It feels much like a fall day, but the green grass and leaves belies that notion. We have worked in a desultory fashion, but I suppose accomplished enough to say we weren't complete slackers. :) At any rate, the closet, which was completely full before the weekend, is now almost completely empty, and all the book shelves have been cleared with the exception of Ornery's plastic models--which have me baffled for a way to transport them safely.
This week I have to schedule the chimney repairs and get them done, have lunch with a friend and continue with the packing. Garage, shed and the last of the rooms I have already "finished" are slated for completion this week. I also have a Dr. appointment with the chiropractor and an appointment to meet up with the Realtors at some point to hand off a form.
Time sure does seem to be flying by. Here we are already in May, and only 22 more days until we are in our new digs! We spent a lot of time planning where to put things this weekend, and even found a great solution for the craft room storage. It will be fun to set things up in a new way--I just hope I can find everything when I am done!
