Before I got too immersed in the packing this morning, I made a run to Atwoods to buy some new tires for the dolly. Seriously, has there ever been a more wondrous store? Even better, the location is about a mile from our new house. I foresee many Saturdays spent wandering the aisles there, especially once we start our garden. Since today was Friday the 13th, they were giving 13% off everything in the store. The wheels ended up costing about $13.00 each. What a spate of 13's! Now if only I can get 13 boxes packed today, I should be nearly to the end of that chore!
I am starting to run out of spaces inside to put the packed boxes, so it is good that the dolly will be operable by tomorrow so we can put some stuff out in the garage. We are trying to keep most of the stuff toward the front end of the house for easy loading--thus it will take less time and cost us less, theoretically. Depending on how quickly they load the truck, however, we may end up paying them to sit around while we are at the closings. I hope not, but I guess it can't be helped if that is the case.
I am glad it is Friday. It is only ten more days until we move, and I am so ready! Well, maybe not the fully-packed sort of ready, but emotionally and mentally I am more than done with all the clutter, and am anxious to get back to my tidy existence. I realize that will take some time, but I fully intend to get one room fully assembled as quickly as I can so I may retreat to it when I get overwhelmed. In fact, Ornery is taking Monday and Tuesday off, and while Elizabeth and I are unpacking boxes Tuesday, he will be painting the master bedroom. Hopefully that room, at least, will be done by Wednesday morning. While he is at work Wednesday through Friday, I will continue with the unpacking, and over the weekend, I hope to get the library painted and settled as well. It seems extremely ambitious at this point, especially after working so hard to get out of here.
The goal is to be able to park in the garage by Memorial Day, and since the boxes are going to mostly be unloaded into the garage, that gives me a week to do a whole lot of unpacking! I would say I probably won’t blog much during that time, but I am sure I will need a break from time to time…

This weekend we have the buyers coming over to take delivery of some furniture they bought and are storing here until closing, and then we will help them move the desk from the office to the craft room. Before they arrive we need to shuffle some of our stuff to make room in the appropriate spots. It is the motivation I need to get things done, I suppose...
